Let us help you create your own story for celebrating Memorial Day.

Some people grill meat on Memorial Day. We buried ours.

I don’t know what kind of celebrating you did for Memorial Day, but I’m going to let you re-create the fun here at our house by using the list of words below.

  • unplugged

  • meat

  • freezer

  • stink

  • maggots

  • bleach

  • shop broom

  • flies

  • parents

  • Lysol

  • fresh air

  • hot water

  • CSI jokes

  • squeegee

  • muck

  • rotten

  • gag reflex

So there you go: create your own story for the Memorial Day holiday by using the words above, which come directly from the kind of hap-hap-happy and typical Neidlinger holiday.

Previous holiday highlights from the Neidlinger family, ranging from Easter to Thanksgiving to Christmas over the years, have involved the following words and phrases:

  • runaway horse

  • fire

  • aerial search for horse

  • food poisoning

  • skunk

  • car/semi-truck accident

  • family brawl

  • screaming

  • shooting (only target practice, mind you)

It’s not really the holidays until you’ve spent them with us. Cheers!
